Refreshed Website

Bee Mine - The Fragile Nature of Love

Bee in Amber Honey
I have been teaching so much lately that I had quite put the virtual world out of my mind.

But in between classes and firing student work I have been making a collection of fused fragments in colors that seem to expand as light passes through.

These smoothly rounded elements grew in number and I finally had to use them before they took over the studio.

I decided to contrast the softer smooth glass with etched or stamped (or both!) metal pieces in oxidized brass or copper.

I am so smitten with these new works, I keep them right out where I can see them in the glow of afternoon sun.

I also managed to update my modest website : http://www.nanettebevan.com  with fresh new photos and a sort out virtual housecleaning for the new year.

Now I can breathe.

Christmas Vacances

Well, I have been out of pocket and with a wonderful reason.  I spent Christmas week in Paris. Really I do not even need to say another word - it was lovely.

Now these were taken with an iPhone and may have a grainy feel...but I like the soft slightly out of focus evening photo by the Seine...

I decided to leave it just as it is - perfect!

Fused Glass Pendants

 Busy, busy, busy.

I know, get in line.

New classes, teaching has been great and my students very creative and productive.

Three shows coming up and my own work, well there just aren't enough days or kiln shelves!

Enjoy this glimpse into some of my favorite pieces.
